In my quest to try every cooking method that interest me I bit the bullet and bought a "Dash Chef Series" Digital Sous Vide cooker

I figure I already vac seal so much fresh and leftovers that this might be a good thing to add to the arsenal.

I have cooked some bone in pork chops (think mini tomohawk), those were my first cook and I could probably have pulled them 20-30 minutes
earlier than what I did, they turned out ok... of note was that there were evenly cooked thru out.

Next was coca cola ribs 7 hrs @ 167 again consistent meat doneness and kind of gave the rib meat a different texture, quite good really.

Next up will be 2 t bone steaks that are currently dusted with [Linked Image]


My next decision for the thicker fuller pork steaks that are currently defrosting is which rub?

sous vid the steaks at 115 for 3-4 hours and then throw on a hot grill or cast iron skillet for a few minutes each side.

Nothing beats a bag boiled steak finished to the perfect temp over screaming hot mesquite coals. You will love it. People who hate it are probably running an iPhone 6 and windows 7. Time to move on to better things.

I bet some of the sous vide naysayers have had sous vide product. It is a restaurant staple for a number of products.

We did some picana steaks last weekend that were restaurant quality. Got the PittBoss hot as it would go and seared them in a few minutes.
