Ring fry is just about the closest thing you can fish that mimics a brim. After the bass spawn the brim move in to spawn, and bass love to feed on them and get their revenge on them from months of being pestered by the little bastages. Put a small bass pro shops football shaped egg sinker 6" in front of the hook and flip wood.

Baby Ring Fry is my, Go-To bait.
I Texas Rig it with a light a weight as I can, in Watermelon Pepper, or Chartreuse/Watermelon laminate during the spawn.
Don't forget to Chartreuse Spike-It no more than 1/2".
If one end wears out, turn it around and hook the other end.
I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us. Hopper

I have boxes of chart with red fleck bubble fries. Would make you a deal if you are in Austin or Houston area.

Love Ring Fry’s. Many ways to rig but my favorite is weightless w/a 4/0 Superline EWG hook. That heavier hook gives it just enough weight to fall slow. The thicker the cover the better. Used to hammer big fish up in the pads in the middle of winter on Monticello with this bait. Don’t know the rhyme or reason but some are packages are scented and some are not. Does not specify on the packaging. The scented baits are strongly scented. You could smell the garlic after an entire day. Heck you would smell the garlic when the bait was just sitting there in the boat close to you. Big fan
