Wish I still had some. Back in the day, we used to slam Monticello early mornings, late evenings pack in the pads with either the black or white ones. Loved those lures!

I used to fish something similar back in the day...it was solid rubber / plastic. Had textured nubs on the top, single tail, hook slit down the middle, came pre-rigged and ready to fish.

Was an absolute gem of a bait in the lily pads.

Way back in the day, a friend of my mother had family coming into to town from Minnesota and they talked about fishing for big Texas bass. I offered to take them to Ray Roberts and so early mid February when they were coming to Dallas we planned a trip. We get to the lake and it is overcast, cold and soon to be windy. We tried several areas that had hydrilla and usually produced a good Rat L Trap bite---Nothing! Wind comes up so we head toward the coves down by the dam to get out of the wind. Continue fishing and they are shut down. One of the guys pulls out the lure shown above, I'm thinking this is nuts but luckily I said nothing. Like three casts later he gets smacked by a nice 5 pound plus fish and get it to the boat. We caught more fish that day on other lures but that was his PB and our biggest of the day. After that I have a certain respect for that lure even though it made no sense being thrown in the when-where of that day.
