Tried to smash a red wasp in the garage , missed, Hit me on my ring finger. I have told people for years to rub a paste of baking soda on wasp stings
Has to be done immediately. So I went to the pantry , grabbed the baking soda, and went to work on the sting,
Rubbed a wet paste into the hole , and it quit hurting within a minute, I also put some ice on it for a few minutes.
Amazing results , totally free of pain in 5 minutes , no swelling, have to look hard today to even see the site.

Was grilling one time with a friend and had my shoes off. He decided to go explore inside my shoe. When I put my shoe back on, he went to town. Don't think I'd be putting ice on it, but that was damn painful.

Yeah, I have to go for the benadryl after being stung by a red wasp or a red paper wasp. I'm allergic. Red wasp make the whole limb swell, paper wasps make the local area swell. But I hope your remedy helps others.

Chemistry in action. Alkaline in the baking soda neutralizing the acid in the sting. Tobacco works pretty well too, but I think that's more of a narcotic type effect. The nicotine in the tobacco deadens the nerves in the area of the sting.

I used to step on them barefooted as a kid. My remedy was to cry a lot. It’s been decades since I have been stung since but the day isn’t over yet.

The problem with red wasps is they are unpredictable. I was riding my bike down the street and there was one hovering about 10 feet off the ground that divebombed and stung me on the head. Most of the time they mind their own business, but occasionally they just decide they need to sting someone.

I’ll say what my pops always said about any biting/stinging critter: “ I hope they make it to hell with their backs broke.”

I've never been stung by a scorpion. Not real common around here. Now I grew up about 10 miles from here and saw them all the time.

My real nemesis are yellow jackets (some people call them ground hornets). They're ruthless . . . never stop stinging, wasp spray has poor results on them, and they don't die when they sting you. You just can't win.

Red wasp are attracted to sweat. I have them all over my place. Thank you for the info I will defiantly try it out next time.

I keep this at home in both vehicles and on the motorcycle.
