Here is a little report about my son, Justin Russell, the owner of Bite and Fight Angler, in a little tournament he was invited to enter.
It was a small tournament in Chocolate Bayou.
There were 35 entries. It turned out that Justin was the only person fishing out of a kayak. The tournament was a 'Slam' weigh-in. Redfish, speckled trout, and flounder...
To cut to the chase, Justin won second place overall with only two fish to weigh in. The redfish was 27 inches and 7.65 pounds. He also had a speckled trout. Total weight was 9.25 pounds.
The bag that beat him did include a flounder... admittedly caught on one of Justin's baits! Their total weight was 9.67 pounds.
The day was extremely windy, and in a kayak, fighting wind and waves is no easy task. Having fished Chocolate Bayou quite a lot, he maximized the cover he could find and worked the current of the incoming tide. The flounder were not cooperating for him today, though.
So, I'm pretty darn proud of him and the business / company he has built.
