Went out today and the first part did not include fishing but netting. I watched and made a video of the TPWD using a low pulse to shock catfish. It was amazing seeing all the catfish come up. They were looking for large ones to take back and study. They would float up and come back to life, then swim away. I had about 14 in my net before they told me the size they are looking for! ha ha. Anyway, I tried two locations, first standing timber in 26 fow and they were stacked. The water temp was at 70 and they were hungry. After getting bored just catching fish :-) I moved to staging area about 10-13 fow where they normally are. They were there and even more aggressive. What is interesting usually on my birthday, March 29th I am hammering them in that area , just hanging on trees and catching a bite as it comes by. This year they have not been in there like that till now. Everything seems to be a month off. Left the lake with 15 10-13 inch crappie to rehome in a new private pond but probably caught about 40 and some really good ones too. Bonehead Palestine Special in Stump bug was the ticket today! Will have a video coming out on both.
