Anybody got an connections for some? I need about 50ish for multiple projects here in Cleburne. Can pick up. Logged into that dastardly FB and checking marketplace, not seeing anything special.

There is a place off East 820 in Fort Worth that sells them and usually has quite a few. It is just north of the 287 split and on the West side of 820. I have bought a bunch from there before.

Called Fort Worth Crossties

Yes sir! That's my go to place as well. There's a railroad crossing at 917 and 2280 where they just did a whole bunch of work and was thinking about going down there and putting a sign on one of the piles of cross ties, saying I would like to buy 55 of them.

Realistically, I'll probably just head to FW Crossties.

what does a new railroad crosstie typically sell for.....I did a google search on used railroad ties and it appears that used ones sell for $29-34.00 each but I couldn't find any listings for new ones...I'm sure they are sold in bulk quantities and due to high price of a used crosstie,I was curious what the price of a new one would be.....

Places like FW Crossties are $25 for "Re-lays" which is pretty much the standard rate. They've been used, but are in good enough shape for other projects. The class below that is usually $20 a tie, but are usually in not that good a shape.

I'm looking to build a pedestal about 3 ft high and fill it with shale or pea gravel to hold up a 3000 gallon water tank. Well that and maybe a small backstop to throw some lead at. grin

Just saw a place on the North side of FM1187, approx. 3 miles East of I-35W that had quite a few for sale if you are still looking.
