I used to fish all the time. My job has pretty much stopped that. I do fish occasionally with the wife. But this trip is getting me excited. One of my wife's patients has a 700 acre ranch down south of Bluff Dale,Tx. It has a 45 acre lake that has been managed for trophy bass. The owners invited my wife and I down to fish it Thursday evening, all day Friday and Sat. It has a guest house that we will be staying in. It is mandatory that all bass 14 inches and under be taken out. That is the only downfall. I'm just not into keeping bass. But I also totally understand that it is needed. Last week there grandson went down there for 2 or so hours. Caught one close to 12 and a solid 9. I'm not going down with high expectations. But it should be cool. The lake has good depth, timber and just enough grass to make it interesting. We will be fishing out of a John boat. But that's ok. I will send an update on Thursday if we have reception.

Thanks everyone. Trying not to get to excited where I expect to much. And my truck has been at Moritz since Monday. A/C problems. Waiting on a part. If it isn't ready by tomorrow then unfortunately we will have to take the wife's car. Lol. I have told her for years to get an SUV or truck. But it could always be worse. Pictures and updates will be posted if we have reception.

It's not that place Fishkiller. I remember the place your talking about. Never got to fish it. This situation is kind of unique. The rancher doesn't even hardly fish. He is into trying to keep land at its present state. He hates concrete. He recently bought another 200 acres so no one can build around his main 700 acre ranch. When I met him and his wife it surprised me when he started talking about managing the lake. He had people come in and help him manage the grass growth, baitfish population and bass population.

You do know you can take pics at the lake and then post them after you get back in town with cell service, right??
