Thanks. EDIT: Looking at that same area in 2022 pics on GOOGLE, seems like the grass has expanded a bit! sb

How clean is this lake to run, I need to run old gas and medina is to much of a hassle to get on right now. I've heard there's stumps towards the river so I want to avoid that.

Very clean and clear outside the river area (need to slow down or really stay in the channel) when it starts getting narrow (river like)

Hoping to find some in Lower Lake....anything around Turkey Cove Area? Wind will be up this weekend...so looking for South Shoreline grass. I have previously seen some grass around Jacobs Creek and small coves....but the grass could finally make Canyon the next Amistad.

If your gas is real old it might be wise just to pump it out. Just had a total rebuild on my motor and they said that bad fuel may have been part of the problem. My boat sat for six months due to shoulder surgery and blew the motor in fifteen minutes on my first fishing trip. A tank of gas is a lot cheaper than a rebuild.

Well we just returned home from Canyon Lake....wind was howling!! Most of our bass came on drop shot with zoom finesse worm in watermelon red including 2lb 10Oz caught near Boat Ramp 1 and Overlook park....caught nice Small Mouth near 2lbs on spinnerbait. Some fish were right up near the bank and some were out 15-20' range. Caught 8 total fishing Saturday AM & Sunday AM....main lake was really rough, so we stayed in relatively calm water on South side and Turkey Cove. The wife lost a big one in her kayak in channel of Turkey Cove 20' to 25' dragging a drop shot. We bailed out early Monday fishing because of weather forecast for heavy thunderstorms. Grass is showing up everywhere in small patches. I had no luck on baby brush hogs or flukes.

Report from 4/27. Water temperature was from 68 to 71 with visibility from 2 to 6 foot. Caught fish on red flake watermelon worm, buzz bait, walking top water and jigs. Missed more strikes than I hooked on the top waters.

I have not fished Canyon in a few years. When I did I have caught many 5#+ off of the channel in main lake with drop shot & shaky heads as well as whacky. 30+ fow.

Are there any rumors about SPRAYING THE GRASS? Please don't...every lake they spray they kill. Canyon is a deep water lake, grass provides habitat for bait and bass! Conroe, Fayette, Coleto Creek have all suffered from State intervention of Hydrilla.
