For those that are looking for a durable yet dependable first surf rod that is powerful yet not expensive give this rod a look. This is the 12ft original Solaris rated up to 8oz. This year in 2022 the new Solaris is coming out. Same dependable materials & quality at a fair MSRP. The new Solaris will be rated up to 16oz. So if you live in the cool PNW fishing for Salmon to Sturgeon, or surf casting with Hula Dancers off Hawai'i for GT's you may want to consider getting a Solaris.
