What should one expect to pay to have this tree cut down and stump ground? Tree is approx. 30' tall.

I'm guessing $500-700. We pay a real GOOD arborist $150 per tree just to prune and raise canopies. You may get Larry, Curly and Moe to do it for $50, but hope your homeowners policy is goo.

Had one done last summer $1200 to cut $300 stump grind my trunk was about twice that size and hollow in the middle ..

I have one that I have to get a quote on either trimming or taking down one of these days/years. It's going to be costly so I have been putting it off. It's on the island in my pond. Top half of the tree is tall dead wood (probably from when they dug the pond about 10 years ago and cut the roots). Know it will either involve a cherry-picker or one of those crazy tree climbing trimmers. It's not a good pond tree, but the bottom 30 feet or so of the tree leafs out every year. Just the dead limbs that go up another 70 feet or so look ugly. Birds love them though.

$1000-1500+ For cut, haul, and grind. The trees guys down here are several months behind right now.

I'm upping my guestimate due to inflation, which is by the way the highest it has been in 40 years. I'll go with the others $1200 to $1500

I just took one out about that size and proximity to my house. I paid $1500.

Because of the way the branches are over the house, they will probably have to bring in a lift truck.

You don't want some yahoo with a chainsaw doing that job. Topping off the branches correctly and felling a tree in the right direction is an art.

Id be more concerned with that 15degree lean of the house.

Neighbor and I had 2 ash trees about that size done a couple of months ago. $900 each, but we searched for quite a while to find that price. Had quotes up to $2700 each, most were in the $1500 range.

$1,000 for the tree removal and $350 for the stump grind I would think. Bob Davis...prices are going up. Smart man to trust trees to an Arborist! I do as well and after 30 years in the same house I am super proud of my trees...my neighbors all use "guys with saws" - their trees look so bad!

This job just needs a guy with a saw, trailer and can rent a stump grinder!
