Very interesting you mentioned hybridization in the bass. The nice smallie you caught appeared to have the color of a smallmouth, but the jaw certainly looked like a largemouth, the spot earlier in the video showed characteristics of a spot and a largemouth. I see it a lot with true bass species, with the naturally occurring hybrids like the yellow bass and sandbass hybrids, naturally occurring hybrid striper on lakes with only striper stocked, and even striper and yellow bass crosses on some lakes. I only heard of smallmouth and spotted bass crossing, but it looks like they’ll all hybridize.
