I posted a thread about where and what kind of T Top to buy in the general equipment section. Lots looked at it but no comments so I am posting here. I have a 23’ Nautic Star 231 Hybrid. Can anyone tell me is a factory top the best way to go or do you recommend an after market top? What dealers carry them? I called the local NS dealer here and the dealer I bought the boat from and no one can or wants to get me a price or get me a recommendation of what to buy.
I would appreciate any help or recommendations you might have.

A K Top would be cheaper. It's mounted on your console instead of floor. Used to be a place in Denison called Tops and Towers if I remember right. They are out of Denison and did good work. Might want to look them up.

Maybe they went out of business. Call Brad at Fish and Ski Marine. He can point you in the right direction.

Get one custom built. Lots of Aluminum fabricators out there that will do one. Most are along the coast.

I put one of these on my boat in 2009….Well worth the investment. It’s fully adjustable to fit your console and you screw-into the deck/5200 seal adhere the t-top. I’ve never used the fold down feature, but it’s functional for some in sure. I also added their leaning post. https://fishmaster.com/Back in the day, you received a couple of cell phone pouches, cup holders, and a “hump day” worthy calendar with the purchase.

I saw one of those today on a boat at a stop light. I’ll check it out. Thanks everyone for the input!

Another top you might want to look at is Stryker. https://strykerttops.com/Or, if you want to go the custom- built route, there is a place in Victoria called Specialty Aluminum Works. https://www.specialtyalworks.com/

I helped my FIL install a Stryker top and it was the biggest POS ever. Thank god it got damaged in Harvey and he had an aluminum shop make a custom top, it’s so much better. Don’t waste your money, go have one made for your boat.

I called Nautic Star this morning and seems like the dealer I bought the boat from lied to me, imagine that. I can only buy a factory top from NS from the factory when the boat is built.
Looked at lots of the aftermarket ones and none will fit around my door on the console. I even had one tell me to “just cut the door to work around the top”.
I’ve always joked that I can weld anything but night and day so fixin to find out. I’m going to build my own, that will solve the problem. 2” aluminum powder coated white. I’ll keep y’all posted of the progress.
I appreciate all of the comments.

Any recommendations for lights for my T - Top? I’ve found Black Oak LED’s for $150 and Amazon specials for $35. Do y’all have any opinions on what lights to put on the top?
