My chainsaw slow leaks bar oil after I use it. How is them best way to store it? It's getting oil all over every surface that I set it on.

BTW, it is battery powered, No Gas.

they all do that, our battery pole saw leaks bad and the warmer it is the faster it leaks.

if they make a case for your model that is about the only way other than draining the oil after use.

might email the mfr. and complain about it, they may have a fix to make it not leak as bad.

If I could find a way to hang it with the bar pointed down, do you suppose the oil would travel down the bar, where I could put a catch can?

that would be worth a try, maybe try hanging bar up and it might not even leak.

I have 2 stihls that I have an old truck floor mat under on the shelf was the best I can do here.

Quit being lazy and just cut with it until it needs refilling.

I've never seen one that didn't leak. IMO, the best way to store is to set on top of a folded up cardboard box.

I have a Husqvarna professional grade that's around 15 years old. Started doing this about 10 years ago. My son the small engine mechanic can't fix it. I keep mine in a case with some of those blue shop towels under it. It's a mess. Otherwise it's a great saw.

Maybe buy a generic saw case to keep the saw in.

BTW, I have a Lynx battery powered pole saw that leaks too but to a lesser degree.

My new stihl doesn’t leak at all. I don’t trust it. I used to twist the cap just a little to vent it on my old echo. Not sure it did anything, oil got everywhere anyways, but at least it made me feel better about it.

On the electric ones, they say you are supposed to drain the bay oil out after use

My Dewalt one leaks too if I leave the bar oil in it

I hang mine bar down. Have one of those throw away aluminum drip pans under it to catch any leaking bar oil.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

Go to Wally World and buy the cheapest and biggest baking pan they have. Set chainsaw in pan.

I cried, because I didn’t have a chainsaw, until I met a man that didn’t have trees.

I set mine on an old rough cut board. Oil soaks into the board and when it can’t soak up anymore it makes one hell of a fire starter for the burn pile.
