Wife won a smores making machine with all the fixins a coupla weeks ago in a drawing. We're trying to decide who to re-gift this to.

As a desert they just suck. But time with your kids over a campfire making their own messy dessert... that is priceless.

If you want a similar experience with a more palatable result try a campfire cone. Get waffle ice cream cones, and fill them with a variety of candies, crunchies and chocolates. Wrap them in foil and put over the fire for about 5 minutes or until melted on the inside. Pro tip: must use waffle cones. Sugar cones will burn up when they get warm.

My favorite filling is white chocolate chips and fruity pebbles with just a few mini marshmallows. But you can get a variety of cereals, nuts, and any of the candy options you'll find at the store with the chocolate chips.

I do not care about how big of a PIA it is, how messy it is, or what it takes to make them. They are memory building events for me and my boys. When they have kids of their own and if they do smores, they will see the PIA factor and look back making ti more memorable. My boys loved them and we did them summer and winter. Sometimes it is not about me or my comfort, and I am ok with that.

a camping must. My daughter likes them with ritz crackers as opposed to graham crackers and I'll admit she's on to something

Their too sweet for me. I used to eat the marsh mellows when i was a kid. I'd let them catch fire then blow them out and eat them.

AMEN! My thought exactly.

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

I know you're grumpy but even smores make you mad?

Listen up - The secret to s’mores - tortillas. You’ll do a 180 on your view of s’mores. Not messy and everything actually melts like it’s supposed to.

not a fan.... but will do it in a heartbeat for a kid.
