 Big white bass on Texoma

We finally got a chance to fish for some white bass last week on a trip to Texoma. We were actually pre-fishing for my Regional tournament for the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA), but took a few breaks to chase whites when we saw them on the graph or saw them schooling. We also joined a "boat show" and caught a few that were schooling and feeding in the main lake. We caught most of them in 20-30 FOW on underspin swim baits and the new MAL Dense. I like the new MAL Dense because it sinks a lot faster than the normal Mepps which was good for the deep water. We caught some working the bait vertical and some by casting out and working it using the Mepps method. Overall we caught about 30 whites and several of them were magnum … some of the biggest I've ever caught! Too bad I couldn't use them in my high school tournament  . It was a great trip and we had a good tournament and qualified for the State tournament next month on Lake Belton. Work has been busy and I didn't get to fish Texoma last weekend but heard the HP ramp was full Saturday due to the bass tourney.
