I had rebuilt the VST about six months ago and also replaced the fuel pump. Cranked it up the other day and she threw an alarm and died. Seemed to be a fuel problem. Switched tanks, no difference. Pump the bulb, no help. Just got around to figuring it out today. Disconnected the line to the vst from the low pressure fuel pump and it pumped gas. Loosened the drain on the vst, nothing. Disconnected the supply line to the vst and tried to blow air. Nada. So, pulled the VST, cracked her open and the needle valve was stuck. Made sense. Cleaned it up, bolted everything back up, and she runs now. Hope that helps somebody else.

Just interacted today with a tech who hates (yes, it's a bad word) working on Mercurys. He loves Johnson/Evinrudes. I have an Evi . . . . .
Glad you were able to rectify the problem.
And Thank You for sharing the fix with the TFF Community.
