I used to feel embarrassed when I was too afraid to run very far above wolf island and guys were blowing past me while I am idling and felt pressure to get up on plane and go for it..until one of them totaled his boat and ejected himself and his partner into the lake about 3/4 mile ahead of me (lucky noone was hurt bad and they were taken off the lake safely). Now days I don't care what anyone else thinks about me or how they choose to run there 75K boat. I get where I am going eventually and get to fish instead of taking the boat to the shop or worse.
So for the younger guys, when you see someone idling on Roberts, Chambers, Fork etc in places where you think they could be running, you might take note that they may be wiser than you give them credit for.
Good Fishing and God Bless

The lake this past weekend is only .87 feet low, but there are time bombs all over the lake no matter how well you know it. We found one in and area the I know is clean even when the lake is down 7 plus feet. sometimes things float around. Made for a bad weekend for me and the kids. Be careful

What makes the guys that are good on Roberts is they spent the time to learn to navigate the lake.
Thus they are more efficient than the people that have not put in their time.

Getting kind of expensive and lower units and props are becoming harder to find. I'm pretty sure I knocked over a big creek channel tree Saturday. Hit it hard and somehow didn't break something. That must be my free one for the year.

I followed a guy who went 60ish north of Wolf Island. I idled behind his path slowly and felt like I was in a pinball machine with all the stumps I was hit.
Go slow!

No. But a friend made paths from low water pictures and his run from Jordan into Buck was exactly what we run.
His low water runs may come out sometime.
Now I have seen Wilcox run in areas that we wouldn't and he had a camera man with him in Indian. He knows some runs in tight areas and I guarantee you he wouldn't run in areas he wouldn't know like the back of his hand.
Bill Wilcox is one of the best in every aspect.

Any stump hazards in main lake south of Wolf Island to dam then up west arm to 922 bridge? Up past the Pecan Creek ramp on the west side past the 3002 bridge there is a "clear" lane for hundreds of yards. Or so it looks. Turn on the downscan and see all the tree lines that run across there! just below the surface. I seen a guide run wide open on the west bank. There are some clear areas you could run through then the trees start to appear again. I have been running on Roberts for nearly 10 years now. It is a very dangerous lake and for the life of me, why didn't cut some lanes to run in? Any where you go north of wolf island on the east side, and north of the 3002 bridge on the west arm is treacherous! South of wolf island and ur ok. South of the 3002 bridge your ok, There are coves with some timber on the south ends, but the telephone poles do a pretty good job of establishing the hazard line. Watch the VERY long point off the east end of the main lake peninsula south of Johnson Branch State Park. That point is shallow for a very long way. Ruined a new stainless prop kicking up sand through there.

Been fishing Roberts since it opened, like everyone says use caution. Plenty of things out there to damage you and you boat
