Fished the first event of the year with the North Texas Kayak Championships. I haven’t been kayak fishing since November 15th as I had some personal things in my life come up that kept me off the water. Had a chance to take the kayak out one time before the event and it was a quick trip to a local pond that yielded a nice February skunk lol. So this tournament was only my second time back in the kayak since mid November. We had 97 anglers signed up for Lake Palestine. It was a cold morning I decided to fish the Neches arm of the lake and this would be only my second time being at Lake Palestine so I had really no high expectations just hoped I could make something happen. Had an awesome day and nearly took home the win after tying for first place I lost the tie breaker of big bass to Eric Neal and congrats to him on the win!

Thanks guys! It was a great day on Palestine! I wish I just had 1/4” more but don’t we all lol. Just fished Lake Fork on March 12th but it was bitter cold at 25 degrees that morning. Haven’t edited the video yet but lets just say it wasn’t quite as exciting as Palestine. We had 115 people signed up for Fork! The North Texas Kayak Championships has been around since 2016 and its been a fun trail fish over the years. I’ve met lots of friends and good people and learned so much! If you ever want to fish tournaments this is definitely one of the best trails there has ever been! Come on out and join us and stay for the awards afterwards meet some new people maybe win a nice raffle prize and have a cold beverage provided by the sponsors.
