Well MLF canceled day 1 of the Toyota on Texoma. So it brings me to the question is this to become the new norm for tournament fishing? Seems this has been more common this year than ever before. Personally I don’t care for it and don’t mind fishing in high wind, but fishing Texoma regularly I have gotten use to big water and I make my runs accordingly. Is it a possible insurance situation? What are your thoughts?

30-40 mph winds is bad on a small lake. Stupid to launch on a big lake.

While some of the recent cancellations both MLF and BASS have been questionable I think they made a good call today

I thought it was 30 to 40 forecast today, maybe the WBAP weather guy is wrong?

Really high winds, very severe thunderstorms or ice on the roads or ramp are the only good reasons to cancel. Dense fog may cause a delayed start.

It's just fishing it should not be life or death. I am pretty secure in my manhood. I don't have to run big waves in high winds to prove anything.
I have no issues when a trail errs on the side of safety.

As nice as it seems right now it is Thursday, and I should be fishing our weekly tournament.
But the TD cancelled it due to the forecast on Tuesday evening. In our club, which is mostly seniors, we tend to always err on the side of safety.
I have watched MLF many times and they often cancel for a day when there is bad weather approaching. And they pull their anglers, judges, camera people, and commentators off the water for a few hours or longer when bad weather is approaching. Just recently the Elites cancelled a day.
So, because the OP is used to fishing in heavy water near his house all the rest of us must too.

I just stated I’m use to running big water just do to the nature of Texoma. I completely agree with cancelling events in severe situations winds over 30 or sever storms. I just asked if everyone’s opinion take it for what it is. I’m not fishing the toTexoma event so I could honestly care less about them cancelling today. Don’t be so quick to judge I refuse to take anyone with me in high winds due to safety reasons I don’t want to put other people in. If I make I stupid choice to fish high winds that’s my own choice.

I was curious on everyone’s thoughts and if any TD’s know of outside reasonings that maybe the common public doesn’t know
