Lug nuts, that is. Anyone else heard of this issue? Apparently it is a common problem on F-150s and a few other Ford models because Ford used aluminum on part of the nut and it swells when hot. I’m not sure it’s because of heat, but very common and should have been manufactures recall. Change them out, there’s no relief from Ford. How many thousands of trucks costing customers how many millions dollars did Ford sell with defective diesel engines? They aint worried about no lug nuts. This boy is finally growing a pair.

I have a 2013 F150 and dealt with this 3 years ago. Switched to all steel lug nuts.

My 2012 F150 has the same problem. I’m fixing to change to solid steel one piece lug nuts like they should have been.. Whatever idiot engineer thought that was a good idea to put that sheetmetal outer hull on the lugnuts should have them all shoved up where the sun don’t shine. The ones for F150 are correctly 21mm. But if someone uses the wrong size socket like 1” on an impact wrench that sheet metal covering will get deformed to where the 21mm socket will now stick on the deformed nuts and not shake loose. Probably enough over hammering with the impact would do the same thing even with the right socket. Royal PITA to then have to then get something and pound the stuck nuts out of the socket one at a time. I’m done fooling with that mess.
