The only thing with the Ghost if you turn the speed up to get somewhere, when you stop always remember to lower the speed. If you don't and it is still on a high speed and you step on the pedal, you might be thrown in the water because it will start up at whatever setting you are on.

Ghost is better due to the brushless motor. But if you run birds you’re going to want the ipilot link which allows you to mark a brush pile at the console then hit “go to”. Your trolling motor takes you to the waypoint. When the brushless Ultrex comes out, that will be a game changer.

does the ghost have the option of the key fob? Captaining my boys, and the deck is getting smaller the older they get lol

Thanks,

Thanks,

Yes it does. On the 47 and 52" you have to buy it additionally to the tune of $110. The 60" comes with it. I have and like it. I don't use it to drive the boat much. I use it a lot when to spot lock, or if you press an arrow key while spot locked you can "jog" the boat 5' in the direction you press. Also you can adjust speed if you are autopilot or course lock. Some have said it's hard to steer through the remote if you are sitting because you can't see the arrow on top.

I haven't used an ultrex, i came from a fortex. Overall I really like the Ghost. The interface to my Carbons is really cool. I can press a location on my map and tell the trolling motor to take me there.

I'd also give this decision a little time because I'll bet the farm Minn Kota will have a brushless trolling motor on the market soon; Motorguide too.

#fakenews, we’ll have a new president before that thing gets released.

As far as brand, any of them is better than not having one.

I was bugging the guys in the power pole booth about it…they blame it on parts shortage…😆

I have run an Ultrex for 2.5 years and have had to put a new board in the foot petal 3 times already. That being said they keep covering it under warranty. I will probably go to a Ghost next year. My only concern is the customer service has been very good with my Ultrex. I have heard a couple horror stories with warranty and customer service with the Ghost.

Well according to a PP seller on “the other forum”, it’s going to be the lightest, fastest, super duperest, smartest, best looking trolling motor every made….but he can’t give any details… roflmao

Great! I might be able to buy one if we get a new president.

Ran multiple Ultrex's and I have a ghost now. Next boat will have a ghost

I am still waiting on my evo shallow water anchor order to get full filled, maybe i'll order a PP trolling motor too.

I had to contact customer service twice, first time was an update issue, lowrance walked me through it while I was on the water, second time was when I broke the lower unit loose from the shaft, fricking wake boat washed me into a retaining wall, anyway I went ahead and bought a new motor, took the damaged one in to Zack at SW Parts for repairs, couple of weeks later he calls me to tell me my motor was ready, I asked how much was the bill, he said nothing. Lowrance warranted it and just sent me a brand new motor.

This is my first boat with a Ghost, and I love it! Had Ultrex's on my last 2. They were good, and no complaints. But the Ghost is much smoother and way quieter!
