I saw an interview with her and she said she's is considering fishing the BASS Opens or the MLF equivalent

I have much respect for her. She is legit no doubt.

I have heard several interviews with kristine and watch her youtube. Super sharp lady. I don’t doubt she could at least be competitive in open tournaments.

They were just on Ray Hubbard March 10th. Went out for a peaceful day of fishing and my area was loaded with female anglers. It was entertaining watching them fish and operate their boats.

There are so many women that can compete at that level just like there are a lot more men that can compete at that level , problem is time, money, and other commitments. There are several on this forum that I know would do well if they had the time to do it right.

Maybe they just can't back a trailer? fish

There have been females in the sport. They usually don't make it long competing at the top levels - for whatever reason..
However, that may be changing a bit. I saw that two young ladies just won the Louisiana HS State Championship and I know there have been some ladies finish well in the Texas HS circuit the last couple of years, so who knows.....

It does take a special kind of stupid to stand on the deck of a boat in wind, rain, cold, hot, etc for 8-10 hours to win $500 and a chunk of wood - most women are a little smarter than that...

This is the best answer. How many girls want to be out fighting the elements standing on a boat deck for 10 hours at a time several days in a row? Hell I love fishing to death, but would never want to do what the pros do.

Scott Martin's daughter Hillary will probably be the first one in the Bassmasters. She can flat out catch em and has the personality also.

Kristine Fischer holds her own on the Kayak side of things. If she could change her fishing style to suit boat fishing, she'd probably be competitive. Whether she'd qualify for the Elites is questionable. Seeing her compete with the Opens (as a boater) would be interesting.

How does anyone get to the top in fishing? By winning. There are literally thousands of men out there competing in this field. A few make it, most don't. If you have one woman for every thousand men, the odds are stacked against that woman.

She can’t “catch ‘em” any better than a thousand other people- it’s not hardly what matters.

Sponsors don't get you there. Still gotta qualify. Sponsors just help fund it.

I believe it's because females are so nervous about taking a whiz in the boat. Especially once you get fish in the live well.

Hang out at a busy marina and tell me what percent of bass boats being launched are by women.

When you think about all the tournaments from High School on up these days probably only 1 in 100,000 or more that serious tournament fish and think about maybe fishing to the top ever make it to the Elites. For numbers less women have tried to make it tournament fishing.

Way, way more failures than successes on the upper levels.

Sooner or later one will come along.

👆This👆

It’s not about a lack of ability…it’s about numbers and odds. The same reason the US doesn’t do so well in soccer or cricket, yet those are the 2 most popular sports worldwide.
