Does anyone know whether Ruede's Ranch or Ruede's Camp on the Medina River near Pipe Creek is still open?

I read this and it was WOW!
I had just had a conversation about this with my wife this morning!
I had remembered how back in the late 60's and during the 70's I used to go there all the time and catch stringers of white bass.
I was telling her about driving up to the old farm house that was fenced off, and the elderly lady would come out to her gate and I'd pay her and head on across the creek to the parking spot under those ancient oaks, and then walking that rickety path alongside that steep cliff face on those rotten board bridges.

To answer your question, I think the old lady must have passed away in the late or early eighties, and the property was later subdivided and now there are homes along the river and it's private property.
Those types of places are far and few between these days!

There was if I remember correctly, at least two more bridges made out of galvanized 2" pipe that had 1x4 boards with half of them rotten or loose!
I mentioned I'd never make it across the first bridge at this time with my bum back and leg, and these days you have too many ambulance chasing lawyers that this place would not exist again.

This was the easy bridge. The others, if it was your first time, would make you wonder if those white bass were worth it? roflmao

I am old. Went there several times in the early 70's. Probably nuthin' but a trickle of water there now even if there is access. Those good old days are long gone.

Never heard that one!
I've always heard RUDE's or RUDY's. Didn't really matter though as I knew what they were talking about!

I have a friend who retired to Pipe Creek. Lake Medina is way down due to a drought. I was over there last week. The lake is at 20% of capacity and 54 ft low.
