The video of one charging at a blue kayak on caddo freaks me out. I could see them being attracted to the commotion when bringing a bass into a kayak or a kid playing on the shoreline.

If you’ve got the proper license in the proper county on the proper dates. Yes you can hunt them. But you can’t leave them lay and there is a proper hunting method

So basically no you can’t shot them because you’re scared of a lizard.

Its not caddo, my mistake. Its North Carolina. I was watching videos of gators on caddo at the time. Beautiful place but I don’t know if I’d kayak there.

Not scared of a lizard, scared of its mama while I’m in a plastic boat... if there are 4 footers there then its completely likely there are 12+ foot long ones also.

Plus I have kids, I read the story of that little boy getting pulled into a pond at disney by one. F that. If that happens to mine on pines then nobody will have to worry about gators there again. I assure you of that.

I just don’t see the ecological reason to keep them around or require a license to remove them. Kinda like what we are doing with hogs.

Lake of the Pines , Caddo, and Bob Sandlin are all on the same water way, BIG CYPRESS CREEK. The gators will work their way up a waterway when crowded. I live on Bob Sandlin and have seen an estimated 10' gator (seen sunning on a beach)15 years ago. Most of the Sandlin gators are up the brushy creek because Lake Cypress Springs blocks their travel up BIG CYPRESS.

Saw this pair again at Sam Rayburn last week in same spot as last Spring. Big boy can launch himself into the water pretty dang quickly. The “little” one in the front was 5-6 footer for context. Coincidentally did not see any otters in the area.

Not the same as pigs. Not the same category at all. You’re much more likely get mugged but you can’t shoot everyone you walk past just in case.

DEAD on 100%....pigs are a scourge! They proliferate at a rate that most can't imagine and trash whatever they touch. Gators are EXTREMELY reclusive and don't care for humans, UNLESS they're stupid enough to feed them. You do that and you're setting yourself up for a problem.

Yes, I have seen a gator twice on pines. Once in Johnson Creek and once in Twin Lakes. The one in Twin Lakes floated up about 10 ft from our boat, not sure who was more scared when they saw each other, my wife or the gator.
