They are leery of the accuracy of using separate scales. That’s natural when 1oz could be considerable prize money. When the scales weigh the same object that weighs 5.0# they all weighed 5.0# or at least the ones I saw them try did. Trip said they periodically check them all.

Even though Lane won by 1# 3oz that last Bass had to be 2.0# to be scoreable. So the re-weigh rule determined the outcome of the tournament. However the rule was set long before. Had Clausen caught a similar fish he would have done the same thing.

$250,000 re-weigh.

BASS and MLF both use the same Brecknell scales eeks

So let me get this straight, there’s someone worse than Mercer? BPT is doomed! I’d rather pull a few of my own teeth with channel locks than have to listen to that fatazz Mercer.

Yeah, Marty Stone, he's ten times worse.

Just noticed Clausen placed 2nd again in a controversial finish, he also got just beat at the end in that Ott Defoe Impedance rule drama when MLF was at Rayburn

All this weigh-in talk had me wondering...if when bass weighed all the fish behind the Port-o-let at the classic at Ray Roberts did the anglers know their weight and sign off on it or was it a mystery until they pushed the special price is right type button, and was the button in the rules or did they just change them to fit their needs?

Don’t think Ray Scott put the BUTTON in the rules, who voted on the change? Did they ever use a BUTTON in the past and do secret weigh-ins....hmmmmm...Did everyone know their weights?

Makes sense they might have secretly wanted a back to back winner to create some drama with another TWO TIME CLASSIC WINNER......ITS UNBELIEVABLE FOLKS...GGGGGGGGIANT BUTTON. Just wondering? Conspiracy maybe, maybe not.

It wasn’t controversial in any way. They have rules and they were followed.

Bassfan wrote the fish was weighed 4 times, it was not, it was 3. I’ve already stated my opinion on the rule, won’t beat the dead horse again.

Read the Bassfan article and statement from the TD. Followed the rules as written, so all is good. Not sure why many have any issues with this. I have watched them reweigh many times on the BPT. I actually like the rule.
