To be clear not shooting! I live on the lake and critters are fun, I get it. The lake is tough so when you get bit straight away it is awesome. To have the otter spook the fish was fun to see but frustrating for the fishing. As far as where I will not say on this one but a pair of them was hit last year right at the corner of second bridge going East on Loan Oak Rd last year. Definitely otter and not beaver. OK I forgive you, I carry an AR in the boat ... I would have lit that otter up! ![[Linked Image]](https://c.tenor.com/gzsyXya4mNUAAAAi/smiley-emoji.gif) I am hyper sensitive to the down turn of the country right now, you know, no guns, no genders, no Jesus, no meat, no gas, no defense, etc.... When I see someone from Virginia(neighbor to DC)question the killing of an animal, my lib-o-meter goes off and this redneck draws some conclusions...guess they were wrong this time. Fish on, water is warming and the fat girls are moving up!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

River otter on Ray Bob!? Seriously???
I've been on that lake many days over and never seen one. Where were you?
Please don't shoot them....they are awesome! Been seeing them out there for years. Saw one Sunday. And yeah the fish quit biting when they swim through. Just like when a porpoise swims through at the coast. HUH! Learned something new. Now I'm on a mission to see one. Like I'm on a mission to see a gator on Worth.

I've been blessed and seen otters in many lakes over the years. Last week here in East Dallas near white rock lake 2 otters got into someones koi pond and wiped the fish out, they even got it on surveillance video. We now have a nesting pair of bald eagles and river otters at WRL so I'm expecting a mountain lion next.

The day after catching a lot of fish is still a good day.

There are some otters in Lake Welsh. Several years ago two otters were fighting over a bluegill (Brem for you Texas folks) that one of them must have caught. It was funny to watch them swimming around fighting over the fish. First one would have it in his mouth and then the other. By the time they were done only the head remained of the fish and they swam off.

ON Fork we pre-fished a bank chock full of fish. Next day a pair of otters preceded us on that bank and no fishing eating.

I don't see them too often. I had one last year come up by me in the back of Pilot Point cove and it was eating a crappie on bank.

I’m originally from Loxahatchee Fla., doesn’t get any more redneck than that, for my 12th birthday my parents gave me a 4’x8’ rebel flag to hang on my wall. With my work I’m all over the place, I have a home in south Georgia, right now I’m in New Friggin Jersey for gods sake! But I have been quite surprised how many deer hunting, bass fishing good ole boys there are here, but they sure do talk funny!

I like when otters catch our bass, hop up on the dock to eat them, leave scales everywhere and, when they're not eating them, eat our boat seats. Such great animals, so don't even be thinking about eliminating them and improving your fishery. Maybe they have some cormorant friends they could bring in as well. Ugh - cool, but destructive. See what your friendly lake biologist or fish farmer thinks of them.

One of my duck hunting spots here on Cooper we used to have an otter come and hang out with us. Somebody may have caught fish and fed it to him and that may be the reason he was haunting you.

I'll take otters over stupid worthless cormorants any day. I like otters anyways so could never hurt one. If one swam around my boat I'd probably tickled as a toddler.
When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip! #Brockstarama

Hey Buster, I pulled up a picture of you telling your Otter story. I have a video also, but it contains a mild obscenity... ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/03/full-62528-134017-otter.jpg)

I’m more concerned about gar in Roberts than the Otters. It’s getting to be that time of year where we all get to see first hand how over populated the lake is with gar. They have no natural predators to keep them in check, making them the top of the food chain.

Dang otters. They broke into our church and ate all our Bibles. Then they took all our bullets. If that wasn't bad enough, they took down all our TRUMP 2024 signs.
