What would cause my screen to stop every 5 seconds for just a few seconds and it seems to be running slow anyway.
Good Fishing.

Better to post this on the next forum, 'Electronics'. Try this and tell me what HDS you have, LIVE, CORBON, GEN-3 or 2. Assume you have touch screen?? If you have an HDS touch lets reset sonar defaults. PAGES - SETTINGS - SONAR - Reset Sonar Defaults. Older units will say Reset Fishing Mode.

Does it do this with a fresh , hot battery ? Mine would act up when voltage dropped below 10 volts.

This probably isn’t applicable to a gen3, but maybe give it a try anyways, it’s free to try. When the gen2’s were out, there was a glitch like this and the fix was to turn the 2d ping speed off of MAX and down to 18.

Before you do a factory reset. Go to Pages/Storage or Files and open waypoint routes and trails look to see if you have any that have been deleted if yes then do a purge to clean that up and see if that fixes it. Many times what you are describing has to do with processor and memory overload and or corrupted data. If it still does it then back up your waypoints and then delete all and Purge , Test the unit if ok then import your data back into the unit.

Is it connected to other units? Mine was doing this and then I went to settings and turned off Network sharing and it completely fixed this. With ethernet and NMEA connected, this doesn't need to be on and my units are still sharing waypoints like I want. But I also noticed my units were getting confused on trying to pick up the different transducers from the TM and the one on the transom. I think this was causing the glitch because when I put them all to the same transducer, the slowness and freezing stopped. The second I would program the transducers to be on the which units I wanted, the freezing and slowness came back. Also, I was losing depth and water temp because I was switching sources between all the units.

If you make sure all your transducers are set to Local that problem goes away.
