I have a Helix 9 Chirp SI GPS G2N unit. My side imaging does not work. It shows the center line with the boat on the top of the screen but nothing to the right or left side of the screen. I have put the unit back to factory defaults but that didn't change a thing. I don't know if my issue is the transom mounted transducer or the head unit. All of my other options (chirp, DI, mapping) work perfect. I live between Dallas and Tyler on Cedar Creek lake. Is there a Humminbird person that I can contact for help with this issue? Having the same issue. New install of Ultrex Quest and Helix. It thinks I have Mega 360, but I have the DI/SI ducer that is built into the Quest. My ducer options don't give me any other options other than various 360 types? And yes, I have the trolling motor powered on. I'm sure I've done something wrong or stupid...

The new units come setup for the MEGA 360 and the Connected Transducer choices are for that transducer and others connected with it. If you don't have a MEGA 360, just set the unit to not look for it and it will have another set of Connected Transducer choices with the default that matches the SI transducer that comes with the unit. THIS is the menu to turn it off-----
Helix 12 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 10 G3, Helix 15 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, Helix 8 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G4N, SOLIX 12 G3, MEGA 360, MEGA LIVE TL

Yes the SI transducer has to be submerged to show anything with Imaging. SONAR works in water, not air. Sometimes 2D sonar will show "something" in air if the "something" is close enough. You have it set up correctly now with the HW:MSI+ listed first in that menu.

One more thing, when you do a unit software update or just do Restore Defaults, the MEGA 360 Detect will be turned back on since that is a default setting.
