N and Stx depends, but what’s your favorite colors for spring? Dirty creek water vs clean lake water.

SLAB BANDITS in texas toast and meller yeller!!! try the smallest size and medium.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Hey thank you for the comments, I appreciate it... And no sir I don't sell jigs, just for personal use. I make them for a couple of reasons, flash, noise, and vibration. I use um for dock shooting, vertical jigging, cast and retrieve, anything you use a regular jig for, or a roadrunner. Does it make any difference? Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't, just like anything else we use... When the fishes are active they will strike most anything, when they are not...

I make most of my mortgage payments guiding with a White Hot Thump Buddy or Thump Chubby. Second best would be the Ghost Minnow Thump Chubby. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/03/full-22219-134096-fd400acc_fa2d_4af6_a0a2_c7545fbf93f9.png)

Normally, Color is not really that important, during the spawn…except that some lakes fish fish different colors better than others. That said, Laner made a good point, white/chart is a good color on most any lake, more so than other colors. Usually, If the lake is unclear water, then the primary colors work good (black, red, purple, yellow, green, etc.). On clear lakes the pastel type colors work well…that said, this time of year, I like Monkey Milk, Silver Flash, in Tboxes baits, And those white hots and the green ones, in Laners baits. Don’t overlook the purple Bonehead slim sticks either (money baits on some lakes) I shy away from most large brand bait makers, because you spend more time shopping, buying and replacing baits, than fishing. Basically, if I was limited to three baits, for the rest of my life, it would be Silver Flash (Tbox), White hot (Laner or Bonehead), and purple Slim stick (Bonehead)…if I was allowed additional three colors, it would be that Green (Laner), Monkey Milk and Natural Minnow (Tbox)
In deference to the jig tiers…that Paty, is hard to beat in muddy water, and the colors in the above pics, work pretty danged good, overall. Hope this information helps. Remember, tons of color options, from bait manufacturers, is to catch the fisherman!

Right now if you just tie any jig on in a creek it doesn’t matter what color. Stick and move stick and move oh and catch. JS
Ps. Those niblets help too shhhhh
Don't believe everything you hear and half of what you see . Living for the Thump !!

Sometimes color matters, the majority of the time it really doesn’t. What I will say is important is jig size, this time of year a 2” bait is usually good, but in late spring and early summer you want a small bait like a 1” size, I’ll often cut a thump buddy in half to make the profile smaller. In the fall and winter, you might want a 3-3.5” bait because the bait is big.

I will second that color for clear water. That is what works in the clear water at PK. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/03/full-75490-134175-fuzzy_bug_white.jpg)

Jig master is probably right. That male crappie does not care what color the little fish is that got near his nest. He's going to smack him.
