say I had TM with spot lock used in calm water..I have a 15 boston whaler and tryin to ( in mind) set it up for Crappie type fishing...Mounting it in back next to outboard instead of up front on bow is ???? Just thought someone might been there and has advice...Like no its stupid THX in advance

Will it work, yes. Will it work as well as on the bow, no. Spot lock trolling motors will cause the boat to face into the wind when theres a breeze. With them mounted on the bow with the head over the center it works great. If mounted on the transom it cant be centered as the outboard is in the way and will cause the bow of the boat to swing back and forth.
