Looking for a little feedback and thoughts if getting the reveal is worth the couple hundred bucks. I just got 2 HDS 9 Carbons installed and haven't even begun to play with them or the Discovery card they came with. But I know there is the Reveal version I can buy.

The Data in both cards are identical. The Discovery covers north america and the Reveal you get by region along with the shaded relief of the bottom of the lake. Here is Texas where most lakes are flat and uneventful its not really an advantage. In OTher states or Saltwater it works very well. Sell one of your Discovery cards and get a Reveal.

Thank you, Larry, greatly appreciate it. May seem like a silly question, but if I'm getting a Reveal - why wouldn't I sell both cards to better cover the cost?

That works also. If you ever travel to another part of North AMerica to fish you would have a card to take along other than that sell both

Be very careful when you "update" the reveal card on the cmap website. I bought one last month, updated it on the website, received an error code that "oops there is an error on our part, please call customer service" so I did and was told it was already up to date and should be good to go. Needless to say it was not and no longer worked at all. CMap is replacing it under warranty but it is "out of stock" (though you can get them literrally anywhere" and is on back order with no indication of when I might receive the replacement.
