From what I saw yesterday, the morning bite is better than the afternoon bite. I hope a lot of people were able to make it out there today. My back is still out, I'll have to stay home for a few days. Oh well, the yard needs a little attion anyway, so I'll get a little bit of stuff done here at home. Right now I'm all stoked up, that's why I need to do some yard works, so maybe I can work some of this stiffness out.

I really enjoyed that Bedias video, Ben. My favorite way to catch white bass has always been wade fishing.

Thanks Jsinn01. It was unreal the season I've had. I will remember this year for a long long time. I definitely owe alot to my late Uncle Robert and his son my cousin Troy Eller who showed me this awesome place and taught me how to fish it. I also owe everyone who posts on the forum who's information has also let me get to this point. This place is truly a treasure. Wish I lived closer to be able to fish it more than I do.

I remember at one Cuz (JonL) you were getting frustrated and was thinking about not coming back then we hit it good at Cedar Creek and the rest is history.. You were one one that found that spot a couple of weeks earlier and told me about it.

Well I went to Irwin Bridge and walked downstream to my honey hole which my cousin Troy caught 50 at on Thursday and was not disappointed. Caught a limit by 10 am and continued to catch fish. Helped two other people catch their limit as well. Ended the day with a total of 72 and left them biting. Highlight of the day was the 17.5 inch hybrid I caught which took me over 5 minutes to get in. My first to actually get on the bank. I have hooked some before but never got one in till now. So for me this was the BEST fishing season I have had. I have caught limits on all five trips to the creek. I feel I have learned more this season than in any other season and feel I am ready to continue this next season. Thank you Yegua creek for your bounty and hope to see you next year.
And the 2022 Yegua Creek White Bass Run Champion is ......... JonL

You gotta play if you ever hope to win. Watching “fishing” doesn’t work as well. I just retired, and I hope to one day fish like fishytx, Mr. magical clouser (Jmoe), and his buddy HL&S.
Congrats on your season JonL!
Shut up and fish!

If you are looking for a little more adventure.. There are some Huge whitebass in the Sabine river! I can second this. For years we made an annual white bass trip to the Sabine. There is nothing else like it. I highly recommend. http://riverridgetx.com/sabineriver/guide-servicesContact Jane Gallenbach if you're interested. They offer guided trips on the Sabine.

I tell you what, catching these whites wade fishing the Pedernales River in fast moving crystal clear water has been my best experience and fun I have ever had catching these things. Your line is stretched out, they turn side ways in the moving water and you hear a high pitch tight string sound with every quiver the fish makes. Love that sound and the rod bend with drag singing as well. Really enjoyed the video Ben. Look like an awesome place to fish. Looks like the white jig action was on. Mega whites right there my friend. Sabine River is well known for those. Also heard you in the video speak about big trees and stumps in the water. Pedestals river doesn't have anything to really hang up on other than fish. I even used 2lb test line there one year. Never lost a fish, but it took way to long to reel one in, so I went back to 6lb test so could get them in a little quicker. Something special about being in waist deep moving water and catching whites that will hook a angler on this sport in a heart beat. It sure got me. 50 years and counting.
