Is anyone aware of any running lanes made for download/purchase for Ray Roberts?

No, but that didn't stop the highschool kids this weekend from running anywhere and everywhere they shouldn't.

It’s hard to set a safe trail for the general public that has 90 degree turns around cedar trees and areas you have to run an opening in trees that’s only 3’ wider than your boat. That’s not easy to do via gps waypoint. I see people every week waiting up by the island for boats to follow…. After watching where a bunch of the high school captains were running this weekend I wanted to put out a reminder. Just because a boat is running up in the timber doesn’t mean they know where they’re going! Lake is a foot low so those trails made at 3’+ high water level are not necessarily good right now. This weekend several boats ran an area that scared me just to watch, sure enough Sunday someone tattooed a stump running it. I couldn’t believe how loud the “boom” was. Those of you familiar with Ray Bob will get a kick out of this one.. the RR tressel in buck, I saw boats running the north side of the telephone poles. (left if headed tword buck bridge).

No way to run the lake via gps. Have to run it by sight. Going left or right of that tree ahead trying to follow your gps could mean the difference of being ejected or not. There is not an insurance policy large enough to cover someone making a chip for this very reason- if not I’d make one and make a killing.

I've heard rumors but I would have serious doubts. It would need to be made when the lake was very low to even have a chance. I've been fishing Roberts for the last 20 years and I just destroyed my lower unit and prop last trip in an area a run all the time. Time on the water and luck is how most of us get around.

Been fishing it since 94 and living with Wolf creek as my back yard for the last three plus years. My trails look like a solid line on my graph, I have a very old boat that has plenty of Roberts tree rub marks on it, and I don't run much past the island at this water level. it is just not smart. You hit a piece of an old foundation or a fence H brace that is concreted in, it will ruin your day! Take your time, it is fishing!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

I really appreciate it guys. I know these days everyone stays tight lipped about everything - but it means a lot to have guys at least give feedback when it comes to hazards and boating safety. I don't wish expensive repairs or injuries on anyone!

Ditto for the above as well, I started fishing RR when it opened in 1990. It was pretty honest back then, not now at all. I remember most of the open under water fields, but the random fence lines will get you some of those has a line of trees down them. I also cringe when I see boats flying though areas I know there are trees. I would have loved to have gps like we do now back in 1990, could really mark up a map. Even google maps would have been good. Like said above you have to put time into it, I don’t go up Indian or wolf anymore because I forgot most of it. Buck to 922 I know and back to the island and even then if I am not sure I am back to an idle. I am not going to tear up my boat just to get there a little quicker
