I lost signal all the time after about an hour with the internal antenna. Sent it back for replacement with the external Lowrance of course and it works fine. There are some old threads discussing this subject. The color feature is really great.

Just bought a Lowrance 28 HD in the bargain cave at Cabela's, normally around $1100-$1200, priced at $990, I asked what the best they could do on it and they said $770 so I bought it. Don't ever pay the sticker in the bargain cave, it's all negotiable.

I have a lowrance LMS332. Its in the shop now because it wont power on. I'm really disgusted. They charge 160 to fix it and it takes 5 weeks. They said I should have bought an extended warranty. Hell its only barely over a year old. I told them if I had known it was worth a s@#$, I would have.

I have a LMS 337C and have had real good luck with it. I love the split screen with the GPS/Sonar and color is great. I like marking those holes on the GPS. One spot I fish I don't need a marker thrown out anymore when trolling or pulling up on it. Just Church's chicken - "you gotta love it" - -- AL

Something can go wrong with any sonar/gps unit. Just think about it. You take a highly sophicitated piece of electronic equipment and subject it to a high vibration and high moisture environment. Its a wonder to me that they work past day one. I have had my LMS-332c for a year and I have had no probs with it. It has spend something like 80+ days on the water in a 16 foot aluminum boat that I don't hesitate to take into rough water. I know many other people with the 332s and 334s. A few have had minor problems like it quit beeping on button presses. They sent them to Lawrance and got quick service. I really like my 332. It has helped me catch many a fish this last year. Worth every penny that I spent on it! Let me ask you a question. CAn your sonar/gps do this? Pass over and beyond a brushpile. Move a cursor on the sonar screen to the brushpile and hit one button, "wpt'. A mark instantly appears on the gps map exactly over that brushpile. Return to gps mark, drop marker overboard and start fishing it. All in less than a minute. I really would like to know if any model of Humminbird will allow you to do that.
