 What is the most unusual bait you've used to catch bluegill?

For me, whole kernel corn. Wouldn't have thought it would work but it did.
Someone suggested pieces of "Slim Jim". Tried it but it didn't work for me.

When we were kids we would use cigarettes butts to catch them around the crappie barge.

When we were kids we would use cigarettes butts to catch them around the crappie barge. Hey! When you're a kid with no money you use what you can.

I have caught bluegill with a piece of a leaf on the hook and also a piece of yellow plastic grocery bag. I was bass fishing in our pond a couple of days ago and caught two quite large and fat Bluegill on a 2 hook Rapala. I wasn’t expecting that.

Red String. A couple of years ago while fishing a pond I wanted to see if I could catch some sunnies using a piece of Red string. I threaded it on a size 6 Cricket Hook with 4 pound test ling. I caught a bunch by bouncing it off of the bottom.
