Well, once again, it is time for the sand bass run, and the creeks and river have no water.
Just wondering if bank fishing is out of the question when the lake is about 7 feet low.

Before too long, thanks to the reupping of that goofy agreement, you'll be able to do all species fishing in the center of the lake in a half acre pool. Because they'll let it get drained dry. The agreement would have worked so much better if the Corps of "Engineers", would have upped the normal capacity by 6 feet or so. Everything is still accessible at that level, and gives a small cushion to the amount that can be drained, and still have a marina and boat ramps that can be used.

Although, IMO, having the ability to reduce the lake level by almost 30 feet is still stupid.

I know, it is crazy. No creek fishing unless the lake floods. The sand bass will have to read about the run in their history books.

That's the nature of Reservoirs, they can fluctuate from 15' high down to 10' low
I thought Benbrook was supposed to get water pumped in over the winter from Richland Chambers to get it to elevation for the summer, guess that's not happening

Much of the access has been posted w/no parking signs. The isolated holes restock after heavy rain and can be productive when timed right.

They did for a few days, when Richland was over full, brought Benbrook up about 3 feet, to 4 foot low, then shut it off.

They pump water from Richland Chambers to several lakes, Lake Arlington for sure, Benbrook and others for sure. No matter how you look at it we need a lot of rain.

Last time Benbrook was releasing water, when they got back to normal pool, within a week it was almost three foot low. That's ridiculous. But yes, we need some serious rain. Longshot I know, but hopefully Bois D' Arc takes a little of the strain off Benbrook. Whenever it is fully impounded.

City of Benbrook turned that lake water into profit. It will never change now. They've been doing it way too long now to change their ways. Ruined many days for dad and I when the lake was too low to launch.

Considering they use it as a water supply, which is fine, but they need to remember it's the smallest reservoir. They either need to pull more from Richland, and Cedar Creek, adjust the normal pool up at least another four or five feet, or stop worrying about how much water is in the Trinity. Or, even better, all 3

688.18 77% vs 691.93 91.4% year ago. No rain. Maybe an inch thru Monday. Not enough to connect the dots.

You're using the wrong dots
