Take fishing out of the equation, just for pure beauty what would be your pick? I'm not sure the name of it, but when i was 16 I got the opportunity to float tube a lake in Colorado in the mountains for trout. Was there for a wedding and spent about 5 hours on the lake all by myself. It was one of the most magical times of my entire life. Caught fish all day long, but the reflection of the mountains on the water we're stunning.

Tahoe. Driving around it on the California side will scare you to death. Can they not afford guardrails?

Tahoe is on the top of my list
During fall Dale Hollow or Kentucky Lake get my next bid

One of these days I'm going to NY to fish their lakes as they look pretty during the Spring based on TV shows.

any of the beaver lakes I used to go find in colorado, never a bad view.

not my picture but they mostly all look similar, one of the things I miss about living up there.

if you ever get the chance to do a raft trip into powell on the colorado, do it. the shuttle boat ride is worth the trip.
