after leaving Picachos,we fished El Salto for three days and my son and I caught 153 bass...we had 11 bass over 6 lbs and our biggest two were 8.55 and 8.42 lbs El Salto is full of the hardest pulling 3-5 lb bass you will ever encounter and we caught our share....watermelon red trick worms worked really well until we ran out,any color senkos also worked well...several guys in our group caught fish on flukes and two of our guys caught 4 fish over 9lbs on 1 ounce spinnerbaits in one afternoon.....
our group had 39 bass over 7lbs in three days including one 11lb,two 10lb and six over 9 lbs I believe everyone in the group caught at least one fish over 8lbs..........we stayed at Ron Speeds lodge and the food,accomodations and guides were great....following are some pictures to give you an idea of what the lodge and lake looks like.....

Went there several years ago and lost one in a hangup under the boat the guide estimated to be 14#. Neat place for sure.

food was great every meal....when was last time your wife served you freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast?.....no one had any low chloresterol problems either....

first pic is a statue of the Virgin Mary they put up to watch over all the fishermen on the lake.....look close on second pic and it's a small shrine they put there to honor a commercial fisherman who drowned nearby.....

first pic is a 7.10 fish my son Mike caught,second pic is Mike's biggest fish yet,an 8.42 fish,3rd pic is me and 8.55 fish...last pic is a tilapia that hit a spinnerbait.....one of our guys caught a 6 1/2 lb tilapia on a senko and the guide immediately put that fish in livewell for later consumption...

guide said this was a mexican coatimundi......didn't get a real good look or picture but it looked to me like a cross between a small monkey and a coon.....

Love Mexico, I try to go every year

We will be going every year now. We went w/ Anglers Inn. It is 2150 now i Believe and then another $500 for flight. Best money I have spent on a trip though.
