Priced a new 2022 GMC 2500 denial with diesel engine at the dealership Sat. msrp was 79,867 so I had the guy work up the numbers ,he came back with like 85,900+ TTL. WTH I said what is this price? He said they have been adding $5000_+ over msrp. On ever new truck coming in. And can't keep any on the lot. I have not purchased a new truck in 10 years. I had no idea this was happening.

Call Monte at Moritz Chevrolet. Get the same truck, but as a Chevy. Moritz is not doing the “Market Adjustment Fee” scam.

We ordered one from Toyota last month. Normal price without up charges. Only issue was six months wait time.

We ordered the wife a Yukon. Most every dealership we contacted is charging the “market adjustment fee” scam. I tried to talk the wife into a Tahoe but she wanted the Denali trim.

Moritz, Sewell, Classic and Vernon Auto Group are the ones we contacted who are not charging the BS fee. We ordered from Vernon.

Can you still get a decent interest rate or has that sky rocketed as well?

I buy about 30-40 used cars a week wholesale. The prices keep going up with no end in sight. With gas being crazy expensive now, you would think it would be easier to buy decent trucks and SUVS, but even those are selling like hot cakes at the auction.

Interest rates are still holding for well qualified buyers

I had planned to buy a new truck about now. Looking at a similar one to the OP. Decided to just keep driving my truck for a while longer.

I think a lot of dealerships are going to be stuck with overpriced inventory when this finally turns- and it has to be close.

The last time I bought a vehicle that was in high demand, I went through EECU Credit Union, which automatically meant I got to deal with the fleet sales guy and bypassed all the markups. But same, I had to wait about 6 months for delivery.
