I have a 94 mercury 115. Took it out to the lake a few weeks ago for first time in maybe 6 months. Started out it was peeing the about 15 minutes later saw it had stopped so limped it back to the ramp. I hired someone to change the impeller and oil. Took it out today for the first time and when you turn the key on it gives the normal one beep but then continually beeps. I saw that the continuous beeping is a cooling problem. Thing is it hasn’t even started yet when it did this. I started it and saw it started peeing but not strong so I just towed it home. What else would make it continue to beep before it had even been started so couldn’t be hot. I saw it said to shift it back in neutral to reset it and tried that but no luck.

Anyone recommend a mechanic around Fork that might not be several weeks before they can even look at it?

Ok thx I have to take a Trolling motor in there anyway. I tried several a few weeks ago and they were several weeks to wait. Probably my only solution is to wait this time of year

I had a buddy that had a similar problem and it was debris in the poppet valve...you might try to back flush if you can... he took it to marine mechanic and they removed small sand from the poppet valve and that solved the problem...I would definitely recommend Sartens also always treat me fairly...worth the wait in my opinion..

I had no idea 94 Mercs had an injection oil tank. I think this problem is starting in my 2006 merc 115.

I have a 99 Mariner (essentially a Merc). The alarm loud, long and sustained and is indicative of two possible conditions. High heat or low oil. If the engine is cold when the alarm goes off, the problem is low oil.

what Merc?.. V6 has two distinct alarm sounds... its my understanding that tha "module's" only function is to cause a different alarm sound (oscillating) beeps for any oiler alarm.. if oiler and over heat had same continuous beep tha module would serve no purpose.................

this is on motors up into tha 2000's when tha oilers changed...
