The guys at Advance Team Marine just told me my boat and motor was too old to work on anymore. Even though they have worked on this boat several times before. It’s a 1989 Skeeter and a Johnson motor. Is there anywhere else on the Lubbock area that might be able to work on it?

When I engage the throttle it takes about 4-8 seconds for the prop to engage all the while it’s making a knocking sound like the gear is trying to catch. Best way I know to explain it.

Performance motor coaches out in Wolfforth has a marine shop now under Vandon’s Marine. I can’t really vouch for them however I know they are now working on boats.

Surprised to hear that about Advanced Team Marine....they've always done a great job and fixed some weird issues over the years. Good luck finding a place. If you do locate a place, please post it here on TFF.

They tell me it is too hard to get get parts for old motors.....the good mechanics around here have so much business they don’t have to mess with old motors.
