Does anyone have either of these boats? How about some pros-and-cons of your true experiences? I like the idea of the OT119 Sportsman but they stay away from claims of being able to stand up in it - so I bet it is not doable. Meanwhile, the Bonafide website says standing is doable on the EX123. What says you? What I don't like about the EX123 is that overkill dashboard that probably adds a hundred or so to the cost! But what do I know?!

Both would be dicey, I think, for standing. The Bonafide has a less than 30" beam, for example.

If you could find a 13+ ft. Meyers Sportspal on the used market, that'd give you the light weight (abt 55 lbs.) and you could literally paddle around a whole lake standing even in wind and chop.

I used to paddle standing about a mile from my home up to and around the Lake Athens boat ramp. I'd only sit down to tie on a new lure, etc. I'd do the same going back home. Mine was the S-15 model but you'd find similar stability with a 13 footer.

The Bonafide website makes standup claims based on that "catamaran" hull, which I do believe in because of owning the original Native U12 design. It was 12' and the hull put my feet a good six-inches below waterline. Man! I wish I still had that boat! It had some original flaws, but was almost perfect ... hindsight is 20/20. I DO like your opinion though!

No Bonafide 123 owners? I guess with no peddles, it's too "old school?"

I have a bonafide ss127 - it is easy to stand in - but that is not the same boat as the ex123 so i can't speak to it. Given that their marketing for the ss127 has been reasonable accurate to my experience I'd be inclined to trust their statement... but it always depends on the individual. As a point of reference I was LOL'ing I have friends who can't stand in the SS127... they have no balance and fall out as soon as they try... boat doesn't tip though!!!

Right. I'll be fishing tomorrow out of my Native Ultimate FX 12 paddler. It is a hybrid canoe/kayak in that it has no "bilge" comprising two skins with some inches in between. So, my feet are below water level as I press down on the kayak below the water line.

No scuppers of course, so if it rains, I will need to bail water. Ha!

I am a fan of both paddling and pedaling. Each has its time and place. My 12 is great to get out quick. If I were fishing tournaments, I'd want a pedal kayak with reverse.
