Jsinn01 I was wondering the same thing about Fishytx. Usually he is pretty vocal in this forum.

Anybody heard from the legend 'Fishytx' recently? Talk about a guy with some fishing knowledge. Yes, I talk to him regularly. He's having back surgery that has been delayed at least once. No doubt he is the Master. I tagged behind him and he taught me his method of fishing with a single white 1/32 ounce marabou jig. The Fishytx Method. He taught me how to read the water, present a bait, etc. etc. I was able to transfer those lessons to fly fishing. In fact I actually started catching fish on my fly rod with that jig. It was far easier to throw with the fly rod than it was with an ultralight rod and I hated dealing with the knots in my spinning reel. He also told me to use gray clousers, etc. Ben and him have done so much to help me enjoy this sport.

Also, I've never been able to master fishing the 1/32oz jig. My go to has always been the 1/16oz jig.

The white bass, hybrids and other fish will chase the shad up on points and in coves in the morning and evening. I start looking for them in about mid April.

I fished Irwin Bridge this afternoon and once I found them I caught 25 fast and left. Fishing was on fire. Though I feel like I cheated, I caught a bunch a spot tails from Onion Creek and fished with them.

I just don't get the same satisfaction of catching panfish on live bait as I do artificial. Now when it comes to big game ocean fish, I love free spooling live bait and feeling that fish run with the bait before setting the hook.

Nice catch, well done thanks for the report I probably won't be able to get down there till Saturday... Of course, I did talk to (Fishytx) earlier today, his doctor said he needed to take it easy for a few more days, after his surgery... But if he calls me and let me know he's going to go down there sooner than Saturday,I'll definitely be going down there earlier 4 sure And I'll just sit there and watch him catch his limit, for he's definitely one of the few people that I could ever actually enjoy just watching catch fish... He's definitely taught me a a lot over the years, and a Legend for sure Either way, I'm sure there still be a few left to catch by the weekend !!Tight Lines+No Bad Days!!

So it was brought to my attention today that folks have asked where I've been. Well I'm still kicking. I had heart surgery last week. How ever I have fished the Yegua a few times this year. Went to Newman's bottom about two weeks ago, fished real close to the bridge. Caught eight nice ones in an hour, but had to leave early because I had my wife with me. Went back a few days later and went upstream. Caught 24 in three hours. Then I had heart surgery. And today eight days after surgery, I decided to go fish Irwin Bridge. It was slower than I expected, but landed 21 nice fat females in a somewhat short time frame. My lower back was going out on me, so I packed it up and went home before the better late afternoon bite got started. But on a fun chart from 1 to 10, I had a 10. I'm just glad I've been able to fish a little this year. And if my health stays on track, I plan to have several more productive trips this year.
