Trolled from Lakeside up the channel 1.5 miles and back deadsticking with no luck this morning. Planning on trying again this afternoon any thoughts?

I fished for about 3.5 hours this morning and only caught 8. Fished from the Nolan river down to Cedron Creek, found fish everywhere I stopped. Fish all over the graph but they seemed to have lock jaw. Two weeks ago today, we caught 71 using the same technique and bait.

The dead wind when it switches from north to south really makes them not want to bite IMO. We have had lots of Saturdays this fall and winter when that has happened.

I wonder how much effect the full moon had??

Let us know how you do this afternoon.

We did about 2 miles up the channel from mccown and then back down at about 1mph. Caught 2, but didn’t see much on the graph.

We had 5” flukes from bottom to 40ft or so and caught both on green head + bubblegum.

if you're at McCown, check out the submerged railroad grade south end of the swim beach.....you'll see it on your graph......

First time on Whitney as well. We fished the Lofers Bend area just on the outskirts of the channel 50 fow yesterday and caught 15 or so. They were hanging ~35 to 40ft and stacked up but not biting like you would think they would be. Bubblegum was working the best.

Seeing a graph like that, you'd think you would catch one every drop! That's fishin' though!

Yes sir, that was pretty much the only way to get hooked. Tried spotlock and would have a few bumps but not many hookups

We fished is lake Sunday morning and like you found a lot of fish stages up but not wanting to bite. We worked from Bee's bluff to Bear creek. We trolled A-riggs and dead sticked. Had fish several times swipe at the troll riggs and got a few light bumps dead sticking. Reports I received from other fisherman who had been on the lake last week said it was on fire Thursday and Friday but went south Saturday. We out in ealry and there were a couple guides waiting on clients. We watched them run south , then back north and then back south all before noon. They were having to look so the bight was tough. It seems the fish are really all over the lake from the dam all the way up the river. Whitney is packed with striper right now but you have to catch the day just right. Several weeks ago I went out on a Friday afternoon and in just a couple hours I boated 20 myself. Most fish between 17 and 20" and got one that was 28.

Saturday was slow for me. Put in at Plowman creek, fished from there up to the mouth of the Nolan. Plenty of fish on the graph, but only caught one, a little over 18". Deadsticking pink flukes.
Water temp was 51 mid-morning, up around 53-54 by early afternoon at the mouth of the Nolan.
Thinking about trying again tomorrow, before it gets cold again on Wed.
Might try further down in the lake, Steele creek area.

We tried it again on Sunday morning same area and around Katy bridge without much luck. Caught 2 on bubblegum flukes and 1 trolling A-rigs, only 1 big enough to keep. I swear I can find every tree and brushpile in the lake when I'm trolling! Ended up donating 1 rig to the lake...

Forgot to mention we were thumping with a Bobos thumper too, it would really call them in. Don't have a splasher yet but would like to give that a try as well.

Hang in there fellas , it was a pretty tough bite over the weekend. The full moon, no wind, blues skies and the warming trend shut down things a good bit. I would tend to believe this weekend will be a big rebound.
