The Walmart website sells stuff from tons of different retailers. The retailer in that link is "Hunters Bundle" even though its listed on the Walmart website. My Walmart had Trick Worms for $3.44 as of yesterday. Anyone paying $13.49 for a pack of Trick Worms is probably too stupid to even know how to catch a Bass with them. LOL

Noticed quicksilver premium plus went up almost $5 a gallon at Academy last week. Let’s Go Brandon.

Power Pro went up $3 a spool at the Academy down the road a piece from me.

Speed Craws at Academy are going up to $5.49 now. Some colors are still $3.99 but I expect those to go up as well the next time they are restocked.

And I am seeing lots of Strike King hardbaits taking a big jump. Saw some Red Eye Shads and various cranks getting real close to the $10 mark now.

For me this might not be a bad thing. Forces me to go shopping through what I already have. Lord knows I likely have it! Would also get to revisit some old faves and take a second look at baits I gave up on to quickly.

Might also open up a niche for some of these smaller bait companies that are making good plastics and not passing on the advertising costs to the consumer.

Retailers aren’t getting baits like they used to and when they do they’re more expensive. This unfortunately trickles down the line.

Walmart in Red Oak hasn’t changed their prices on fishing stuff. At least not as of yesterday. Just to be safe…I bought every pack of trick worms they had. $3.66 each. Also bought every pack of watermelon red flukes.

Now I can prove to my wife how smart I am having more soft plastics hanging in boat garage than I can use in a lifetime. I'm sure she willed be thrilled with how lucky she is to be married to me.

Update, went back yesterday, and now they are back down to $4.73 to 4.24 to 3.88. I guess certain colors require diff prices?? But all the same she had them at 7 something!

I wouldn't mind the price increase honestly. I have more bags of unopened, or barely used, plastics than I know what to do with. Probably enough lures/baits to last 3 lifetimes. The only thing I ever run out of these days are hooks and line. It's time I started using all of this stuff I've accumulated over the years. They could probably run an episode of Hoarders about my tackle.
