Tonnes of grass, choppy waters, windy. Small trout, and lots of hardheads on live shrimp. Put boat in and stopped off at Oso. Caught 2 keeper trout, biggest was about 22", a small red, and about a dozen skooly trout, within an hour, then had to go have mah dinnerz!
Even on the ICW was grassy. Impossible for lures, and a PITA floating shrimp.

We fished king ranch, then drifted the flats from icw to boat hole.

u should of tried the port mansfield area and lower laguana madre area, lots of fish

I can't get to lower laguna. Boat only holds 20 gallons.

put in at bird island all the guides ive talked to lately say the trout have moved south of bird, the land cut is producing fare numbers of trout.the upper laguna (from the bridge south) water temp is mid to upper 80's.

Cruzion, launch at the Arroyo City park, you can either go north to the "saucer" area or go south to "gas well" flats... both areas usually hold good fish. i like going south from the river if the winds are out of the south, that way you are not fighting the winds/waves on the way home
