I have a couple of places where my carpet is not adhering well where it is folded over at the lids. Not a big issue, but I want to glue it down before it becomes an issue. What is the best product to use for boat carpet? I don't want to use something that I regret later. Thanks in advance.

I put this rubber square stuff on my boat about 5 years ago. I will never own another fishing boat without it. SO EASY to clean and actually provides some cushion between my feet and the deck. Its AMAZING !

3M Super 77 has always worked great for me. Funny you say that. We use super 77 at work on stuff we only want a temporary hold on. It literally doesn’t stick for [censored]. Lol. Contact cement. From a spray gun is best, but a brush will work too. Same end result, just the cheap paint gun is easier, faster, and less mess.

If you are seeking versatile boat carpet adhesive for indoor and outdoor applications, you can consider this Roberts carpet glue. What I love most is that it does not use solvents or any flammable formula. Aside from minimizing health risks, it also prevents flashback fires. Plus, it does not emit toxic fumes, so you can work even without protective equipment.

Get you a boat load of clothespins when you fold the carpet over lids start using the clothes pins to hold carpet in place.

I like to use the metal clips they use in the office on paper work, the bigger sized ones. They are really strong bite and stick full length wood paint stir sticks to help keep a smooth even press around the lip of the lid. You get plenty of clips and stir sticks, there is just one other thing that all the boat manufactures mess up, it's to not skimp on enough glue. The amount of the glue is almost always the reason for the carpet to release.
The only reason most carpet comes up on our boats is they didn't use enough adhesive and/or we spill the gas or oil on the carpet.
