So, I checked out a new place yesterday with my girlfriend and her dog. This is west of lake Corpus Christi a ways. It looks quite fishy, and when we arrived at 12:30 there were some fishing feeding on the surface. I couldn't find any willing to bite though, except for a baby about 3 inches long. Things to know about this lake it's mostly 5' deep or less and was very murky. I'm not sure if it's always brown or just lately, water temp was 62. Some kids told us that there are lots of fish there, maybe in another week or two the water will hit 65 or so and then the bit will pick up? The deepest area seems to be right in front of the main parking area. It was a full moon so that could have something to do with the weak bite. The park is free and there's plenty of room to walk as well, my girlfriend took her little dog all around. I left my phone in her car, so no picture yet until I get the phone back.

At least you were able to fish, from the google earth pics, it looked like it was solid grass.

Oh yes, tons of weeds there, I was constantly getting snagged.

Carl, have you ever been to Kerrville? There is a Guadalupe river dammed lake behind Chilis restaurant, free boat ramp and everything there. Looks really good from the ramp, I haven’t ever fished it though. You might give it a look on google earth, might be a nice place to try.

I went to the Park with a woman's name, not sure if that is the same lake. I couldn't find any trout that day or get any other fish to bite either.
