I've had a couple buddies mention they saw some dead fish at EV Spence. Apparently the state is planning to test it.

Lake was just fine before Josh Jones fished it a few weeks ago.

It seems to be isolated. As I said in that very Facebook post, most of the lake hasn’t been hit. At least not yet. Last year it hit the river pretty good and the year before that it hit between wildcat and the dam. The last three years it hit spots and not the whole lake. Hopefully this year is the same and we get some warm weather to help push it back.

Guessing Josh didn’t catch any big ones? It’s been slow but the bites you get are good ones.

Saw that just a little bit ago on FB. Poor lake can't catch a break.

How about we spend less money trying to grow world record bass and more money figuring out how to prevent or control GA. I know it’s not as sexy but maybe more important!

Seems like Golden Algae is confirmed on some part of the lake or up the river every year. Hasnt seemed to effect the fishingnin the last 8 years or so that ive fished the lake. So hopefully its just another isolated incident.

If i remember correctly there have been a handful of outbreaks on Ivie in recent years as well.

I'm curious.....what would happen on Ivie if.....a "golden algae" rumor got started ???

It already had it a few years ago in the river and the world didn’t end.

Pretty sure it happens to some extent every year on Ivie and Spence. Both are doing fine.
